It Is Always Darkest Before The Dawn

Last night I dreamed Dak disappeared.  I couldn’t find him.  Two days pass.  I still can’t find him.  There is a sick feeling in my gut, a grief I can’t even describe, a constant nagging, and a horrific sense of incompleteness.

I wake up and realize in my dream I had substituted Dak for America.

America is gone.  Her morality has left her.  Her moxie has vanished.   She is blind to see.  She covers her ears to the truth.  She speaks only from her desires.

After the election results last night, I realized America wasn’t where I thought she was at all.  Her faith has left her.  America is morally dead.

But that should be no surprise to us, should it?  The Bible warns us this decay will happen,

“Realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come.  For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, unloving, irreconcilable, malicious gossips, without self-control, brutal, haters of good, treacherous, recklass, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, holding to a form of godliness, although they have denied its power.  Avoid such men as these.”  2 Timothy 3:1-5

Are we in the last days?  Check, check, check, check, check.

Even Jesus says in those days,“Many will fall away from the faith and will betray one another and hate one another, many false prophets will arise and will mislead many, because lawlessness in increased, most people’s love will grow cold.”  Matthew 24:10-12

Has America fallen from the faith?  You bet she has.  We have placed God in the back seat.  I wouldn’t be surprised if in the not so distant future we stop the car and tell Him to get out for good.

I can only pray that another four years will wake America up.  I know many of us are awake, but there needs to be a lot more awakening to fix our moral decline.

But scripture is clear.  There will be darkness before the dawn.  We might be in that darkness now.  I wouldn’t be surprised.

But dawn is coming.  Perhaps God is allowing this darkness to usher in the light.

Scripture says after the darkness, the light will be blinding.  Eden will return (Joel 2:3).  The dead in Christ will rise (1 Thess. 4:16). There will be peace (Isaiah 2:4). All your tears will be wiped away ( Rev. 7:17)  Glory!

Know this: He is the dawn.  And He is coming.

We can elect presidents to rule us, but there is only one King on the throne.  And let me tell you something about God’s throne.  Lighting comes from it (Revelation 4:5).   Don’t mess with Daddy.

And Daddy will one day look at His Son and say, “Go.”

Jesus will rise and reclaim the Earth.  Fire will descend to wipe out evil, but that fire will also be a cleansing fire, a purifying fire, and after that fire purifies, we will walk into Eden (Joel 2:3).

Before the elections in 2008, I was so sick of politics one day I just blurted, “Jesus for president!”  I liked it so much I made a bumper sticker.  I made another one for 2012.   I guess I will just keep making them until He returns to claim not only America, but all the Earth.

Christian soldiers, before the light there will be darkness.  We need to sharpen our swords (the Word) and get ready to swing them.  The Word – the Truth – is our light until the true Light returns.

Shine Him in the darkness and know His light is about to descend.

Jesus for President.

Amen and Amen, come quickly, Lord Jesus!
